On Thursday, police initiated extensive searches at various locations affiliated with members of the banned Tehreek-e-Hurriyat organization in the Sopore region of Jammu and Kashmir, according to official reports.
A police officer revealed that these coordinated raids are linked to an ongoing investigation, carried out under Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The searches targeted the residences and properties of individuals identified as Zaffar Islam, also known as Yadullah Peer, Lateef Ahmad Kaloo, and Mohammad Ashraf Malik.
The operations were conducted under the supervision of an executive magistrate, utilizing search warrants issued by the Sopore UAPA special judge. Investigators examined relevant materials and electronic devices, with subsequent legal steps expected to follow.
