Crackdown on Illegal LPG Storage in Thane

Authorities in Thane's Dombivli MIDC area have seized 1,839 illegally stored gas cylinders along with seven vehicles, collectively valued at over Rs 67 lakh. A special vigilance team from the Mumbai Rationing Department uncovered the illegal storage, which lacked essential authorization from relevant authorities.

In a significant operation, authorities have confiscated 1,839 gas cylinders and seven vehicles, totaling over Rs 67 lakh in value, from the Dombivli MIDC area of Thane district.

The Mumbai Rationing Department's special vigilance team discovered an unlawful cache of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders during an inspection in Phase-2 of Dombivli (East).

These cylinders, associated with various gas agencies, were improperly stored in unauthorized warehouses, closed vehicles, and open sheds without the required permissions from the Explosives Department, Fire Department, or oil companies, according to officials.
