Border Vigilance Intensified in Kathua: A Countermeasure Against Infiltration Threats

A high-level security review was conducted in Kathua district by senior police and intelligence officials to enhance vigilance. Directed by DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma, the meeting emphasized coordinated efforts to prevent infiltration, smuggling, and drone-related threats, urging joint patrolling and stricter checks in border areas.

In a significant move to enhance border security in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, senior police and intelligence officials convened a high-level meeting on Saturday. The review, led by Deputy Inspector General of Police Shiv Kumar Sharma, tackled various issues threatening the region, including infiltration and smuggling attempts.

Key discussions included the safeguarding of vital installations, such as national highways, and the regulation of drone activities. Officers were urged to intensify vehicle checks, especially those with out-of-state registrations, and enhance patrols, emphasizing joint efforts at the police station level to address threats posed by interstate drug peddlers and bovine smugglers.

The meeting underscored the necessity of coordinating between Army, BSF, and local police to step up vigilance across the district. Priority was given to curbing any attempts of infiltration, drone dropping, and anti-national movements, ensuring robust security measures are in place in the district.
