On Saturday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge leveled allegations against the Modi government, accusing it of undermining the Constitution's foundational principle of social justice. He asserted that current policies have reversed initiatives set by previous Congress governments, particularly concerning Dalit education and employment.
Kharge voiced these concerns during the Congress party's inaugural meeting of its Scheduled Castes (SC) Advisory Committee. He condemned the BJP government for allegedly weakening reservations and promoting discrimination, vowing to protect the integrity of the Constitution curated by Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
Highlighting past Congress efforts, Kharge referenced major laws and educational policies aimed at enhancing social equality. He denounced ongoing attempts to silence the Dalit voice and claimed that the current administration supports a regressive 'Manuvadi' mentality that undermines constitutional rights for marginalized communities.
