The magisterial inquiry into the catastrophic fire at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in North Goa intensifies as original landowner Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar and Arpora-Nagoa sarpanch Roshan Redkar face questioning late into the night. Amonkar, represented by lawyer Prasenjeet Dhage, responded to a warrant of appearance, detailing the incident that claimed 25 lives.
Advocate Dhage described the panel's grilling as 'very intensive and vigorous.' The Goa government, having formed a committee led by district magistrate Ankit Yadav, is probing the causes and responsibilities behind the tragedy as legal scrutiny tightens.
Meanwhile, Roshan Redkar, who has secured pre-arrest bail, communicated his account to the inquiry. Concurrently, Goa Police have apprehended five club managers and staff, while co-owners Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra remain detained in Thailand after fleeing India.
