Arrest Made in Brown University Shooting Incident: A Sad Day for Academia

Providence authorities have apprehended a person of interest linked to a devastating shooting at Brown University. The incident left two students dead and wounded nine others at the prestigious Ivy League institution. The arrest was confirmed by Chief Public Information Officer Kristy DosReis.
Following the tragedy, Brown University lifted a campus-wide shelter-in-place order. Over 400 law enforcement personnel were deployed in search of the suspect who entered a student examination area armed with a firearm. While the crime scene remains active, police continue to control access to certain campus areas.
The gunman managed to flee after committing the act in the Barus & Holley engineering building. Federal agencies, including the FBI and ATF, are assisting in the ongoing investigation. Video footage and other evidence are being reviewed as authorities work to understand the motive behind the attack.
