The Delhi Police have successfully dismantled an interstate gang of technologically advanced vehicle thieves, an official said on Sunday. This operation led to the recovery of three stolen cars and the arrest of three individuals, including the gang leader.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Sonu, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, and Ashish and Sandeep from Haryana. The gang was known for targeting cars within Delhi and selling them in far-off states to avoid detection.

Based on a tip-off, the police tracked and apprehended Sonu and Sandeep on December 6, recovering a car reported stolen in an e-FIR at the Mangolpuri station. This was followed by the arrest of Ashish on December 8, leading to the recovery of another stolen SUV. The gang used electronic devices to clone car keys, a method unearthed during the operation's investigation.
