A Thane court has remanded gangster Subhash Singh Thakur, linked to the notorious underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim, in police custody until December 22 over a high-profile murder case.
Thakur was extradited from Fatehgarh Central Jail in Uttar Pradesh and brought to Maharashtra by Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar (MBVV) police, facing allegations in the murder of property developer Samay Chauhan in Virar, Palghar district, in February 2022.
The incident allegedly stemmed from a property dispute and involved the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Two bike-borne shooters, identified as Manish Singh and Rahul Sharma, were earlier arrested, with other involved parties apprehended in connection to the case.
