In a sharp rebuke to the Central government's recent policies, Tikaram Jully, the Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, condemned the proposal to rename the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). He argued that the move erases Gandhian values and aligns with the Modi administration's pattern of altering iconic names.

Jully further criticized the government for undermining rural worker rights, reducing crucial funding for welfare schemes, and failing to provide adequate work opportunities through MGNREGA. He highlighted that working days under MGNREGA have significantly dropped in Rajasthan, describing it as a betrayal of the rural populace.

The opposition leader also expressed grave concerns over various state and central government failures, including alarming suicide rates among Election Commission officers, redefined boundaries of the Aravalli hills benefiting select interests, and inadequate response to emergencies involving oxygen shortages in ambulances.
