Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the state's commitment to the safety of its citizens, thanking the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for its role in the successful rescue operation. The Indian government's swift action, in collaboration with international partners, ensured Behera's safe release.
Behera's wife expressed a desire for her husband's employment within the state to prevent the need to work abroad again. The family's joyous reunion was marked at Biju Patnaik International Airport, where Behera recounted his traumatic experiences to reporters.
