Dramatic Nighttime Encounter: Police Nab Notorious Fugitive

A fugitive, Khalid, was apprehended following a police encounter. Khalid, wanted for attempted murder, fired at officers on a patrol near Meerut. A dramatic police encounter led to the capture of a fugitive wanted in an attempted murder case. Khalid, a notorious resident of Meerut, was arrested after a tense standoff on the Haroda-Pali road, according to authorities on Wednesday.

During a routine patrol, police stopped to question Khalid, who suddenly opened fire with intent to kill. Officers returned fire, in self-defense, injuring Khalid in the leg. He was subsequently subdued and taken into custody.

The suspect, currently hospitalized, was found carrying a country-made pistol along with live and spent cartridges. Khalid faces numerous charges across multiple districts, including attempted murder and violations under the Arms and Gangster Acts.
