The Special Investigation Team probing the Sabarimala gold loss case made a crucial arrest on Wednesday, detaining former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) administrative officer, S Sreekumar, according to sources.
The arrest occurred two weeks after the Kerala High Court denied his anticipatory bail plea, citing substantial allegations. Sreekumar was implicated alongside former TDB secretary S Jayasree, whose bail plea was also rejected.
The court emphasized that granting bail to the accused would compromise the investigation into the gold loss from the shrine, rendering it ineffective. Sreekumar is the seventh individual detained as part of this ongoing investigation into the disappearance of gold from important religious artifacts.
