In a tragic incident at a Rohingya camp, a young man was stabbed to death during a violent altercation allegedly fueled by alcohol, authorities said on Thursday.
The 19-year-old victim was reportedly attacked by another resident of the camp who stabbed him 19 times, resulting in his immediate demise at the site in Balapur at about 1:30 AM on December 17.
As investigations unfold, police have detained the suspect and are verifying his age while pursuing a murder charge. The incident shines a light on safety and social issues within refugee communities.
