In a proactive move, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declared his intention to convene Supreme Court hearings on December 22, despite the commencement of the court's holiday break for Christmas and New Year.

The bench, including Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi, emphasized the registry's role in assessing case urgency for listing. CJI Kant assured that no undue burden would be placed on other judges, stating he would lead the proceedings personally.

The decision on whether one or two benches will operate on that day hinges on the volume of urgent cases. The CJI encouraged junior lawyers to prepare and argue their cases on the designated date, reinforcing the bench's commitment to managing the court's responsibilities even during the holiday season.
