A Delhi court has reprimanded the Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre for not complying with a judicial order to return the custody of 10 dogs seized during an investigation.
Judge Surabhi Sharma Vats criticized the centre's unsatisfactory and evasive explanation, indicating negligence and misuse of authority. The case was brought by the shelter against a magistrate's order supporting the return of the dogs to their owner, Vishal.
The court demanded a comprehensive report detailing all aspects of animal care to address alarming lapses in supervision and accountability at the facility.
