A suspect has been arrested in connection with the tragic murder of a 72-year-old woman found dead in her home on January 14. Police apprehended Ramesh Naik, 47, of Perdala, after linking him to the murder of Pushpalatha V Shetty.
Preliminary investigations revealed signs of a struggle and raised suspicions of murder, later confirmed by an autopsy. The autopsy disclosed that Shetty had been strangled. Witness accounts placed Naik at the crime scene during the time of the murder.
Naik, a laborer facing financial difficulties, initially denied any wrongdoing but later confessed during interrogation.
