Actor Vijay, TVK chief, was questioned by the CBI on Monday in connection with the Karur stampede case, which resulted in 41 deaths and over 60 injuries. The questioning took place at the agency's headquarters on Lodhi Road.

The inquiry focused on Vijay's decision-making during the rally, the delayed response to the ensuing chaos, and his continued speech despite the turmoil. These sessions aim to ascertain the level of responsibility held by various individuals involved.

The CBI stepped in following a Supreme Court directive, which highlighted the necessity for an impartial investigation to uphold public trust in the judicial system. A supervisory committee, led by former Supreme Court judge Ajay Rastogi, is overseeing the probe.
