YSRCP leaders protested outside the Andhra Pradesh DGP office, alleging denial of permission to lodge a complaint over Dalit activist Manda Salman's death. They accused TDP leaders of his murder, claiming he was fatally attacked with iron rods.
The YSRCP release condemned the police for supposedly refusing an appointment with the DGP, prompting a dharna. An Additional DGP eventually received their complaint. They alleged the incident was a government-sponsored crime, criticizing the police's failure to file a proper FIR while ironically charging the deceased.
Amid broader claims of police negligence in grave cases against Dalits and others, YSRCP vowed to approach the High Court and sustain their protest until justice prevails. They demanded Rs 1 crore compensation for Salman's family and action against TDP MLA Yarapathineni Srinivas Rao.
