A case involving forgery has emerged from Ballia district, where two individuals, including a court clerk, allegedly fabricated a land mutation order and subsequently concealed the corresponding case file, according to officials on Wednesday.
Ballia City Kotwali police registered an FIR following a complaint by Sadar Tehsildar Atul Harsh against Shahid Khan, a clerk at the Sadar tehsildar's court, and Akshay Bar Nath Tiwari from Bajaha village. The accused are charged with cheating, forgery, and criminal breach of trust under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The inquiry, triggered by a complaint from Narvdeshwar Tiwari, involved Assistant Record Officer Dharmendra Kumar and Naib Tehsildar Bhola Shankar Rai, who confirmed the alleged misconduct. The District Magistrate ordered an FIR, and the investigation continues.
