Judicial Shuffle Sparks Outcry: The Controversial Transfer of Sambhal's CJM

On Wednesday, lawyers in Sambhal staged a protest against the transfer of their Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Vibhanshu Sudheer, claiming that the decision jeopardizes judicial independence. They argue that Sudheer's removal is linked to his order for an FIR against police, including ex-circle officer Anuj Chowdhury, over the Sambhal violence.

Protests erupted near the Chandausi police station and district collectorate, where advocates labeled the state government's decision as a grave injustice. They alleged that Sudheer, known for expeditiously resolving cases, was unjustly demoted for holding police officials accountable.

Despite the high court's transfer list that reassigned Sudheer to Sultanpur as a Civil Judge, advocates like Roshan Singh Yadav, have vocally opposed the move, urging the judiciary to restore Sudheer's position to uphold judicial integrity.
