East Delhi Altercation: Woman Bites Cop During Quarrel
A woman in East Delhi has been booked for assaulting police officers during a commotion. She allegedly bit a constable and resisted their efforts to control the situation. In a startling incident in East Delhi's Geeta Colony, a woman was detained after allegedly assaulting police personnel during a commotion on Pusta Road. The confrontation unfolded on February 1 when Head Constable Ankur and Constable Javed responded to a call regarding a public quarrel.
Officials reported that upon arrival, the officers attempted to mitigate the situation but were met with resistance. The woman, identified as Roopa, assaulted Head Constable Ankur, tearing his uniform and biting his shoulder. Video footage of the altercation was captured by bystanders.
The police have charged the accused under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for deterring a public servant and causing injury. Both injured officers were treated at Dr Hedgewar Hospital. Authorities are continuing their investigation to apprehend other participants in the incident.
