Karnataka's Home Minister, G Parameshwara, has announced a decisive crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi migrants residing in the state. Speaking in the Assembly, he detailed plans for a statewide drive focusing on areas like Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Bengaluru.

According to Parameshwara, 196 individuals have been already deported since the Congress assumed power, with 370 more identified for future deportation. He emphasized that this issue is not confined to Karnataka but is a national problem, urging better border security to prevent illegal entry.

The Minister underscored the failure of central authorities in safeguarding the border effectively, questioning how migrants could cross so easily. Stressing zero tolerance, he also instructed police to clamp down on any drug-related activities in the state.
