In Devipatan, two police officers, including a sub-inspector, faced suspension after allegedly accepting a Rs 30,000 bribe from a farmer, officials disclosed on Tuesday.
The disciplinary actions occurred under the directives of Inspector General of Police Amit Pathak in response to a complaint from Nizamuddin, a Matehi Kala village resident.
An anti-corruption inquiry revealed that Nizamuddin was threatened with false illegal mining charges, compelling him to pay the bribe, resulting in the suspensions of sub-inspector Amresh Giri and head constable Shailendra Yadav.
