Arrest Made in Vandalism of Ambedkar Statue

A man was arrested on Wednesday following allegations of vandalism involving a statue of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in Salepur village, according to officials. The incident reportedly occurred Tuesday night when the accused, identified as Akmal alias Mallu, allegedly hurled stones at the statue.
Circle Officer Amit Kumar confirmed that an FIR was filed by local resident Nagendra, leading to the registration of a case against Akmal and four other minors. The accused are all from Chapiya Chitauna village and fall under the jurisdiction of Dudhra police station.
Kumar stated that Akmal, the only adult among the accused, has been apprehended. He added that investigations are ongoing to determine the involvement of the minors in the act of vandalism.
