Described as a "confluence of past and future," this shift was outlined following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The South Block, alongside the North Block, originally built by the British, will now be succeeded by modern office spaces that symbolize forward-looking governance.
Prime Minister Modi remarked that the new buildings represent a pivotal step in India's journey toward becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India), emphasizing the government's dedication to citizen-centric administration and national advancement.
