Interrogation in Sabarimala Gold Case: Jayasree Faces ED Inquiry

Former TDB secretary S Jayasree appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning related to a money laundering case linked to the Sabarimala gold loss incident. Jayasree, the fourth accused, was granted interim protection by the Supreme Court. The ED continues to investigate the alleged disappearance of temple artefacts.

In a significant development, former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) secretary, S Jayasree, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation into the money laundering case linked to the Sabarimala gold loss incident. Officials confirmed Jayasree's presence at the ED office around 10 am.

Jayasree is the fourth accused in the case regarding the alleged loss of gold artefacts from the Dwarapalaka plates. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is spearheading a parallel investigation into this matter. While the Supreme Court has granted her interim protection, she remains an accused in the money laundering allegations.

According to sources, during her tenure as TDB secretary, artefacts from the Sabarimala temple were dispatched for replating. However, Jayasree has defended her actions, stating she acted in accordance with Board directions. Notably, she hasn't been charged in the related case concerning the gold loss from the Sreekovil doorframes, which is also under SIT scrutiny.
