Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Monday addressed the state assembly, emphasizing the government's ongoing efforts for inclusive and balanced development. He highlighted actions against illegal foreigners, drugs, encroachment, and corruption, while underlining substantial progress in internal security, law enforcement, and justice delivery over the past five years.

The Governor's address, delivered amid opposition protests, also detailed government actions from 2021 to 2025, such as the deportation of declared foreign nationals and the disposal of cases by Foreigners' Tribunals. Acharya lauded the state's top performance in implementing new criminal laws, with crime reduction figures showing a dramatic 72% decrease in total crimes by 2025 compared to 2021.

Further achievements mentioned include significant arrests under the NDPS Act, land clearance, employment generation, and fiscal discipline.
