Satyaki Savarkar, grandnephew of Hindutva ideologue V D Savarkar, has approached the court requesting voice samples from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as part of a defamation case linked to comments about the deceased revolutionary.
In the hearing before Judicial Magistrate A A Shinde, Satyaki's lawyer, Sangram Kolhatkar, emphasized the necessity of voice samples for the adjudication of electronic recordings. The evidence is considered crucial to validate the allegations against Gandhi.
The case centers on a speech by Gandhi in London, where he purportedly quoted V D Savarkar making controversial remarks never authored by the revolutionary, according to Satyaki. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi's advocate commenced the cross-examination of Satyaki Savarkar.
