Lethal Kinetic Operations: A Joint Strike Against Drug Trafficking
The U.S. and Ecuador teamed up for a significant military operation targeting drug trafficking in Ecuador. Utilizing advanced tactical resources, they attacked a Colombian crime group's training camp. This action underscores the U.S. as a vital ally in Ecuador's fight against organized crime.
The United States and Ecuador collaborated in a major joint operation against drug trafficking, according to announcements from authorities in both countries on Friday. The U.S. described the effort as 'lethal kinetic operations.'
The operation involved helicopters, aircraft, river boats, and drones to pinpoint and bomb a training camp used by drug traffickers in north-east Ecuador, close to the Colombian border. This camp was run by the Comandos de la Frontera, a group composed of FARC dissidents, and accommodated up to 50 individuals.
Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa has prioritized military efforts against organized crime. His administration has also imposed tariffs on Colombia, criticizing it for inadequate efforts in combating drug trafficking. The operation highlights the United States as a key strategic partner in addressing narco-terrorism in the region.
