The Bombay High Court has recently taken legal action involving Maharashtra minister Pankaja Munde concerning the Jalna District Planning Committee. Notices have been sent to various government officials following a petition by local activist Bhausaheb Gore, questioning the legal standing of the committee's formation.
Gore alleges that the committee was unlawfully created, leading to unauthorized fund distributions. He asserts that he only became aware of the committee's alleged legal discrepancies recently. His writ seeks to address these concerns, as his prior role as a special invitee under an expired Government Resolution has concluded.
In preliminary hearings, the High Court indicated plans to scrutinize whether the committee meets statutory requirements. Notices demand replies from the implicated parties, with responses due by March 27. The matter will next be addressed in court on April 1.
