Passenger Nabbed at Airport with Country-Made Pistol

Mahesh Kumar Chauhan, a 22-year-old from Gonda district, was detained at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport after a country-made pistol was discovered in his baggage. Chauhan intended to fly to Dubai when the weapon was detected, leading to his arrest and a case registration under the Arms Act.

A passenger was apprehended at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport after security personnel discovered a country-made pistol in his baggage on Friday.

The passenger, identified as Mahesh Kumar Chauhan from Gonda district, was preparing to board an Air India Express flight to Dubai when the firearm was found during routine security checks.

Authorities have since taken Chauhan into custody and filed a case under the Arms Act, with further investigations currently underway, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Verma.
