A passenger was apprehended at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport after security personnel discovered a country-made pistol in his baggage on Friday.
The passenger, identified as Mahesh Kumar Chauhan from Gonda district, was preparing to board an Air India Express flight to Dubai when the firearm was found during routine security checks.
Authorities have since taken Chauhan into custody and filed a case under the Arms Act, with further investigations currently underway, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Verma.
