Haryana Streamlines Land Records for Transparency

Haryana Financial Commissioner Dr. Sumita Misra emphasized the importance of standardizing land records to prevent confusion and enhance transparency. She instructed that all entries reflect 'Haryana Government' as the owner, as per the Haryana Land Records Manual, 2013, ensuring clear land ownership and accountability.

In a significant move to enhance transparency in land administration, Haryana Financial Commissioner Dr. Sumita Misra underscored the necessity of standardizing nomenclature in official land records.

Misra highlighted inconsistencies such as references to 'Provincial Government,' which create ambiguity regarding land ownership in the jamabandi records. She directed officials to uniformly record ownership as 'Haryana Government' to eliminate confusion.

The commissioner reiterated that adhering to the Haryana Land Records Manual, 2013, would improve accountability and governance. Land details will clearly indicate ownership in columns designated for state departments, local bodies, and other entities, thereby fostering clear public record keeping.
