On Monday, the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly approved five significant government bills, marking substantial advancements in state legislation. These bills pertain to fire safety services, educational staffing regulations, GST updates, urban development, and anti-defection rules for local bodies.
Among the key measures was the Arunachal Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Bill, introduced by Home Minister Mama Natung, which aims to ensure the efficient functioning of fire services and enhance emergency response preparedness. Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona proposed a bill to regulate the transfer and posting of education department personnel, seeking increased transparency and efficiency.
The assembly also passed amendments to the Goods and Services Tax, presented by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein. Urban Affairs Minister Balo Raja and Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing introduced bills on urban planning and local defection prohibition, respectively. All five bills received approval after comprehensive discussions.
