Gaza's Grim Toll: Rising Casualties Amid Renewed Violence
An Israeli airstrike and tank shelling in Gaza City resulted in the deaths of six Palestinians, including women and a child, marking the deadliest attack in the region since a U.S.-Israeli offensive began. The violence continues despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement. Over 640 Palestinians and four Israeli soldiers have died since October.
An Israeli airstrike and tank shelling in Gaza City claimed the lives of six Palestinians, including two women and a young girl, in the deadliest assaults in the region since the U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran commenced last week, local health officials reported.
Mohamed Abu Selmia, director of Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, confirmed three men were killed in an airstrike near Al-Azhar University. Among the deceased was paramedic Mohammad Hamduna. The strikes, occurring near crowded tent camps, left several others wounded, including children.
Despite claims by the Israeli military that the strike targeted Hamas members preparing an attack, no militant group has verified these claims. The military did not provide evidence to support these accusations. Ongoing violence persists, highlighting the fragility of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
