A family in Manathala was caught in a terrifying incident early Saturday when lightning struck their home, causing a wall to collapse and injuring three family members. The victims, identified as Manoj (42), his wife Smruthi (34), and their daughter Dhwani (7), were sleeping when the event occurred at approximately 3 am.

The lightning strike damaged the structural integrity of the house, leading to a wall falling onto the family. Relatives acted swiftly, rushing the injured to a nearby hospital where they are now reportedly in stable condition.

This incident follows a series of lightning-related accidents across the region, which have intensified due to summer showers. Just the day before, 11 devotees in Idukki were injured by a lightning strike, highlighting the increasing weather-related risks in the area.
