A United Nations investigation, released on Tuesday, has unveiled grim findings regarding the plight of Ukrainian children. The report highlights how Russian authorities have engaged in the deportation and transfer of these children since Moscow's 2022 invasion, actions deemed to be crimes against humanity.
The U.N. document, prepared by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine, underscores that these actions constitute war crimes specifically targeting children—recognized as among the most vulnerable victims in conflicts.
Examining the cases of 1,205 children from five Ukrainian oblasts, the report reveals that a staggering 80% have not yet returned home. The findings demand swift international intervention to prevent further damage to their lives and futures.
