Ladakh's Valley of Flowers: A Blooming Tourism Hub

Ladakh's Lieutenant Governor announced a project to transform Choglamsar and Wari La into 'Valley of Flowers' in a bid to boost tourism. By planting resilient flowers suitable for the harsh climate, the initiative aims to enhance natural beauty, generate local employment, and increase green cover in the region.

Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena unveiled plans to convert Choglamsar and Wari La into 'Valley of Flowers' to increase tourism in the region.

The project focuses on planting flower species that can endure Ladakh's challenging weather, with consultations held to identify suitable flora.

The initiative is designed not only to attract tourists with its vibrant landscapes but also to provide local employment and promote eco-tourism, targeting a green cover increase from 0.4% to 5% in Ladakh.
