The Delhi Police has joined forces with civic agencies, orchestrating 29 joint demolition drives targeting properties linked to drug traffickers since 2023. This initiative was highlighted during a recent session of the Lok Sabha, revealing an aggressive stance on combating narcotics in the capital.

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, discussed the coordinated actions under 'Operation Kavach', an enforcement drive launched to eradicate drug trafficking networks in Delhi. Although no properties belonging to drug traffickers have been seized, the mission has seen significant progress.

Since May 2023, Delhi Police has raided 9,694 locations, leading to the registration of numerous cases and arrests under the NDPS Act of 1985 and the Delhi Excise Act of 2009. Over 17,435 kilograms of various narcotics have been confiscated as part of this extensive crackdown.
