Election Commission Reshuffles Key Officials Ahead of Kerala Polls

The Election Commission of India ordered the transfer of several IAS and IPS officers in Kerala to ensure poll preparedness for the April 9 Assembly elections. Key appointments include Narayanan as Kozhikode's police chief, Thomson Jose as DIG of Thrissur, and Inbasekhar as Alappuzha's district officer.

The Election Commission of India has initiated a strategic reshuffle of key officials in Kerala to bolster preparedness for the Assembly elections scheduled for April 9. In a significant move, several IAS and IPS officers have been reassigned to new positions across various districts.

According to the mandate, Narayanan, an IPS officer from the 2011 batch, has been appointed as the district police chief of Kozhikode. Similarly, Thomson Jose from the IPS batch of 2009 will take on the role of Deputy Inspector General of Police in Thrissur Range. Inbasekhar, an IAS officer from the 2015 batch, is set to assume the duties of District Collector-cum-District Election Officer in Alappuzha.

The Election Commission has instructed that the transfers be implemented immediately, with a compliance report on the officers' appointments expected by 11 AM on March 18. Officers removed from their current positions have been barred from election-related assignments until the election process concludes.
