Major Police Shake-up Ahead of West Bengal Assembly Elections

Among the noteworthy changes, IPS officer Rajesh Kumar Singh is the new ADG of South Bengal, while K Jayaraman takes over as ADG of North Bengal. Additionally, new commissioners of police have been appointed across several key districts, including Asansol-Durgapur, Howrah, Barrackpore, and Chandannagar.

The Election Commission emphasized its commitment to ensuring free and fair elections, enforcing immediate compliance with the reshuffle orders. The West Bengal assembly elections are scheduled for April 23 and 29, with vote counting set for May 4.
