An explosion rocked the residence of former Samajwadi Party MLA Vijay Singh, injuring five individuals, one critically. The blast caused considerable panic in the area around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Singh, who is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of BJP leader Brahmadutt Dwivedi, was not present at the scene. Among the injured were Singh's sons and several local residents. They received immediate medical attention, with one individual transferred to a higher care facility due to the severity of the injuries.

Authorities, including Circle Officer Aishwarya Upadhyay and local police, have launched an investigation to uncover the cause of the explosion. District Magistrate Ashutosh Dwivedi and Superintendent of Police Aarti Singh were also on-site to assess the situation.
