The Allahabad High Court has declared unlawful the attachment of immovable property in Ghazipur belonging to Mansoor Ansari, a relative of notorious gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari.
Justice Raj Beer Singh highlighted the state's inability to establish a connection between the alleged criminal acts and the acquisition of the property. The court stressed the requirement for objective evidence under the UP Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, beyond suspicion or relation to known criminals.
Following the decision, the state is ordered to release the disputed property, acknowledging the lack of evidence tying Mansoor Ansari to any criminal activities listed under the Gangster Act.
