In a tragic turn of events, a 31-year-old Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan allegedly ended his life by using his service rifle in Jharkhand's Chatra district, as reported by police officials on Wednesday.

The incident unfolded at Shila picket under the jurisdiction of Simaria police station on Tuesday night around 8 pm. The deceased, identified as Prahlad Kumar Singh from Mahtodih village in Deoghar district, was reportedly in normal spirits according to his family's accounts before the unfortunate incident.

Authorities have dispatched the body to Chatra Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination conducted under a magistrate's supervision, as further investigations continue to determine the cause behind the alleged suicide, which remains unclear.
