The Bengaluru Police have launched a crackdown on reckless riders after booking 22 individuals for performing dangerous stunts on two-wheelers. The operation coincided with the Shab-e-Qadr festival, taking place on March 17.
Officers from the K R Puram Traffic Police Station conducted the drive to identify and halt those engaging in 'wheeling' within their jurisdiction, focusing particularly on high-traffic areas such as Old Madras Road, Battarahalli Junction, and Medahalli Bridge.
A senior police officer confirmed that all 22 seized two-wheelers were ridden by adults, resulting in the registration of separate FIRs. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the offenders as part of the city's broader efforts to ensure road safety.
