A domestic helper has been apprehended in connection with the theft of Rs 3.5 lakh from a senior citizen's residence in northwest Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar. The accused, identified as Tilakram from Uttar Pradesh, was arrested in Jammu following a meticulous police investigation.

The complainant, 66-year-old Arti Jaiswal, reported the theft from her Tagore Park home which occurred on March 14 during the evening. Jaiswal alleged that her servant, Tilakram, vanished shortly after stealing the cash without notifying anyone.

Police launched an investigation based on the complaint, deploying a team to scrutinize CCTV footage and execute multiple raids which pinpointed Tilakram's location. He was eventually captured in a crowded market in Jammu on March 19. During questioning, Tilakram admitted to the crime, claiming it was to fund a lavish lifestyle. Law enforcement recovered Rs 1.17 lakh in cash and traced an additional Rs 1.04 lakh deposited in his bank account.
