Commitment to Regularise Daily Wage Workers in Jammu and Kashmir

Highlighting promises made on the assembly floor, he stressed that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has pledged to regularise these workers during his tenure.

Choudhary voiced concern over repeated protests as signs of misunderstanding legislative processes. He warned that some BJP members might be inciting these protests, undermining the assembly's importance. A committee has been set up to examine the issue, but overnight resolutions are deemed unrealistic given financial limitations.

The Deputy Chief Minister pointed out the potential burden of increased salaries on the Union Territory's finances, emphasizing the role of negotiations in resolving significant issues rather than persistent protests. He called for media and stakeholders to portray a realistic picture to the workers, reaffirming that all eligible workers will be regularised following due process.
