ED Challenges Kejriwal's Acquittal in Excise Policy Probe

The Delhi High Court is reviewing a plea by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Arvind Kejriwal's acquittal in cases related to the excise policy. The ED claims Kejriwal failed to respond to their summonses and was involved in the formulation of a controversial excise policy.

The Delhi High Court has requested a response from former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding an appeal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) challenging his acquittal in cases stemming from his absence despite multiple summonses over the excise policy investigation.

The case will be heard on April 29, as the ED accused Kejriwal of ignoring summonses and obstructing the probe. The complaints involved undue benefits and kickbacks allegedly linked to Kejriwal and his associates.

While the trial court previously found the ED's evidence insufficient, the ED now seeks to overturn the acquittal, with Kejriwal currently on interim bail and awaiting further proceedings in the matter.
