Historic First: Digital Census 2027 Underway in India

President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C P Radhakrishnan have inaugurated the digital Census 2027 by partaking in a self-enumeration initiative. President Droupadi Murmu has initiated the groundbreaking digital Census 2027 by participating in a self-enumeration exercise at Rashtrapati Bhavan, according to her office. The digital process aims to streamline data collection across India, marking a historic first for the nation.

In a parallel move, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan also completed his self-enumeration online, showing a unified front in the government's effort to modernize demographic recording. A video of the Vice President filling out his form has been circulated by his secretariat.

The Census commenced on Wednesday across eight states and Union Territories, including Delhi. Citizens can now submit their details via an official web portal during a 15-day window. The digital transition signifies a major advancement in how India's population is recorded and analyzed.
