Amit Jogi, son of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, has been convicted by the Chhattisgarh High Court for his involvement in the murder of NCP leader Ramavatar Jaggi nearly 23 years ago. The trial acquitted him in 2007, but the High Court revisited the case, following a Supreme Court directive.

After nearly 23 years, justice has been served in the high-profile murder case of NCP leader Ramavatar Jaggi, as the Chhattisgarh High Court convicted Amit Jogi, son of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi. This overturns Jogi's 2007 acquittal by a trial court, which had been appealed by the CBI.
The Supreme Court previously directed the High Court to reexamine the case, stating that the charges against Amit Jogi, involving a conspiracy to murder, were too grave to dismiss without thorough investigation. This decision was delayed but has now culminated in a conviction and a directive for Jogi to surrender within three weeks.
Jaggi's family expressed relief and gratitude, feeling their long quest for justice had finally borne fruit. Amit Jogi maintains his innocence and vows to continue seeking justice through the Supreme Court. The case underscores the persistent complexity of the legal battles within India's political sphere.
