The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended two officials from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) over alleged bribery, according to officials on Friday.
Reportedly, a monument attendant and a conservation assistant at the Jantar Mantar sub-circle of ASI were involved in a case where a bribe sum of Rs 3,50,000 was demanded to cancel an official notice.
The CBI, acting on a complaint, set up a sting operation on April 1, resulting in the arrest of the accused while they were accepting a partial payment of Rs 1,00,000 from the complainants, exposing the corruption within the ASI ranks.
